Don't just hand over your driver's license when cashing out a large amount of chips, Casinos get hacked far more often than you think. You don't want your information falling into the wrong hands.

Don has such a pleasant voice and friendly way of speaking. He seems like a great guy to just sit down with, have a couple of beers and just chit chat about random gambling topics.

This guys rationale that making basic strategy "mistakes" is a surefire sign he's a card-counter is fucking hilarious. States should make it a LAW that if you are going to be backed off a game the table must clearly state that rule beforehand. I went to a casino that was double deck and got yelled at for showing other players my cards where as my usual casino they let me play face up or show others as I wish. It should be clearly visible, "card counting will get you backed off". If you are going to make arbitrary rules then they must be posted at the table, IMO.

Counting online is not going to be profitable BUT there are a few minor things worth mentioning. It may actually be beneficial for those NEW to card counting and I say this for multiple reasons: A) You don't have the pressure of having people, cameras, pit bosses, looking at you. No loud screaming, drunken banter from the guy sitting at 2nd base, etc. B) The cards are left on the table for the entire hand, so newbies don't have to "guess" about what the guy next to him had because he didn't see and that guy busted. I personally might play an hour or two online if I'm a bit "rusty" and haven't played in a year and am before I go to Vegas/AC. Not to actually count to have an edge, but just to make sure my ADHD brain can still do it. As for rules, no they aren't *great* but I'll take them over the Strip. 3:2 $10 min, Surrender available, DAS, dealer stands on all 17s. Really honestly the rules might even be considered "above average" considering what trash games are out there in the real world. Now the penetration is horrible (maybe 50% if lucky) which counteracts the counting. I have had some okay TCs but it takes the first two hands being all trash to accomplish that, and even then you're lucky to MAYBE get 3 hands in if the table is fairly empty. As far as rounds per hour, I completely disagree with the notion that it's slower than the real world. I would put it on par if not quicker. there's no waiting for people coloring up, or waiting on the 21 year old decide for 7 minutes if he should split his 10s, or for the pit boss to check change, or for the drunk guy to fumble around to look for a $1 to tip the waitress only to knock over his drink and now we gotta wait for the table to get cleaned. Now the rounds per hour MAY go down online if the table is full but overall id say they equal out. Most of the time online they have someone shuffling the used shoe as soon as the cut card is out and the hand is over. Maybe 1 out of 20 you may have to wait for a shuffle, and it's usually at really crazy late or early hours.

I think I fall into a pessimistic and pound foolish player. I don't bet a lot of money, usually playing the table min, and don't usually increase my bet.

Spooking is illegal?? Isn’t it up to the casino to protect their hands? Therefore if someone notices it, and covertly tells me about it while I’m playing.. shouldn’t we as players be in the clear?

About 10-15 years ago after watching the movie 21, I thought it would be funny to walk up to a table, sit down, and ask, "What's the Count"? That's when I learned that some Dealer's actually will count cards for you.

I believe that Frank Scoblete wrote an article about the highs and lows of card counting. He also talked about the losses in that particular session he had.

Tipping isnt a "professional gambler" question. It's a question about your decency as a person. The person dealing you cards, esp in America, is probably making min wage. (Tipping culture as a whole is a problem in America as it truly highlights how exploited labour is -ie, tipping isnt as big a deal in Europe cause people are more likely to be paid a living wage). As an AP, you're battling the casino. The person dealing you cards, assuming you're not an asshole, wants you to win. The dealer isnt your opponent. They are most certainly not the casino. The dealer, like most, is just trying to get by. Treat them like person. This video with rationalizing the question is shite, expressing the worse of capitalism. If you're running a business and you take a client out for dinner, do you rationalize how much you tip the waiter based on the expected return to the business engagement? That sounds petty, right?

That dream tells me you have guilt issues. Since I doubt it's guilt for using an advantage against casinos, Im gonna speculate it's the guilt you feel for promoting something (your card counting course) that will lead to ruin of more people than not. I saw one of those Insider videos with an expert in casino ops. They we're asked about card counters and in reply said something along the lines of, "we love card counters at blackjack cause the vast majority think they know what theyre doing but they suck at it".
